What a sad mistake we sometimes make when we think that God only cares about Christians. Hold everything in your hands lightly, otherwise it hurts when God pries your fingers open.Īs a camel kneels before his master to have him remove his burden at the end of the day, so kneel each night and let the Master take your burden. It starts the moment you reach out to Jesus. You know, eternal life does not start when we go to heaven. It is not my ability, but my response to God’s ability, that counts. There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still. When I trust, He succeeds.įaith is like radar that sees through the fog - the reality of things at a distance that the human eye cannot see. That’s why He sometimes shows us things, you know – to tell us that this too is in His hands.īe united with other Christians. If God has shown us bad times ahead, it’s enough for me that He knows about them. If a bird is flying for pleasure, it flies with the wind, but if it meets danger it turns and faces the wind, in order that it may rise higher. The human spirit fails, except when the Holy Spirit fills. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God’s work on behalf of the people for whom we pray. We never know how God will answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in His plan for the answer. it is the interest you pay on trouble before it comes. It makes us unfit to face evil when it comes. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength. The devil smiles when we are up to our ears in work, but he trembles when we pray. I began to understand that this was my first lesson in learning to trust him completely, my first steps on the path to complete dependence on, and obedience to, his guidance. he uses our problems as building materials for his miracles. I soon discovered that man’s importunity is God’s opportunity. When He tells us to love our enemies, He gives along with the command, the love itself.ĭiscernment is God’s call to intercession, never to faultfinding. And so I discovered that it is not on our forgiveness any more than on our goodness that the world’s healing hinges, but on His. Jesus Christ had died for this man was I going to ask for more? Lord Jesus, I prayed, forgive me and help me to forgive him…. Love is the strongest force in the world.Įven as the angry vengeful thoughts boiled through me, I saw the sin of them. There is no safer place than in the center of the will of God. In the center of a hurricane there is absolute peace and quiet. Lord Jesus, keep me in Your will! Don’t let me go mad by poking about outside it. Worry does not enable us to escape evil it makes us unfit to cope with it when it comes. Worries carry responsibilitie s that belong to God, not to you. If you have an important decision to make, or even a small one, it is good to make your decision with the guidance of the Lord. If God sends us on strong paths, we are provided strong shoes. When he stops praying, the devils shouts for joy. When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles, when he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. At the end of the day I lift up the bouquet of flowers I have gathered throughout the day and say, ‘Here you are, Lord, it is all Yours. When people come up and give me a compliment… I take each remark as if it were a flower. Nothing is too great for His almighty power. The wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something and enter God’s realm where everything is possible. If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you. Trying to do the Lord’s work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work.
Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow it empties today of its strength. Let God’s promises shine on your problems.
